Warranted investigation

A House committee properly has decided to investigate the Air Force's perplexing lack of response last Feb. 24 to the Cuban MiG fighter planes that destroyed two Brothers to the Rescue Cessna planes over international waters, killing four crew members.

A federal court hearing and an International Civil Aviation Organization report that damns Cuba have raised unsettling questions about U.S. actions before and after the shootdown. Let this congressional inquiry clarify those actions.
