The Congressional Subcommittee On The Western Hemisphere, at the request of Congressman Dan Burton, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Lincoln Diaz Balart and Robert Menendez, will hold a Congressional hearing on:
September 18, 1996 at 2:00pm
In Room 2172 of the Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, D.C.
To "Examine the Chain of Events that Occurred Surrounding the Shoot-down of the BTTR planes by Cuban MiGs on February 24, 1996"
The specific emphasis is to determine whether or not the U.S. acted appropiately that day, and if U.S. security interests were compromised.
The witnesses expected at the Congressional hearing will include high ranking officers from the U.S. Air Force.
